About Township Of Champlain

Champlain Township offers the best of both worlds: two villages rich in history and activities – L’Orignal and Vankleek Hill - surrounded by scenic rolling farmland bordering the Ottawa River. The charm of Vankleek Hill lies in its designation as the Gingerbread Capital of Canada. The village is home to unique red brick architecture lavishly decorated with intricate gingerbread woodwork. Thanks to an active art and music scene, numerous festivals and events take place year-round.
