About Tsuchiura Nihon University Secondary School

The school began in April 2003 with just 93 students under the name Tsuchiura Nihon University Junior High School. Within just a few years, it had already established itself as one of the most attractive schools in the prefecture. In recognition of this achievement, it became the first school in Ibaraki Prefecture to be conferred "secondary school" status in 2006. The following year, in April 2007, Tsuchiura Nihon University Secondary School was officially established, and it has continued to build its reputation as one of the prefecture's most competitive schools while upholding the legacy and traditions of its parent institution, Nihon University. Our school is committed to developing well-rounded students who are connected to and proud of their country's rich culture and history. We empower students to become ambassadors of their heritage—individuals who are both able and willing to share their knowledge of Japan with the international community and to foster cooperation and communication across borders. We also work to instill in our students the core values that will help them grow into future leaders in today's dynamic, interconnected world. The school emphasizes three key areas: honing students' human potential, developing their ability to communicate internationally, and cultivating their academic abilities.
