About Umah Pupa
Umah Pupa is a social enterprise transforming organic waste into sustainable resources through Black Soldier Fly (BSF) bioconversion, based in Bali. Responding to Bali’s urgent waste management challenges, we implement a circular model that turns food and biowaste from households, businesses, and communities into high-value insect protein and organic fertilizer. Our modular BSF system is scalable, low-cost, and adaptable for both small community facilities and larger waste management operations, enabling waste reduction within just 10–14 days. We collaborate with local waste facilities (TPS3R), municipalities, restaurants, farmers, and households to provide: Organic Waste Pick-Up Services BSF Modular System Installation & Training Educational Workshops for Schools, Communities, and Organizations BSF Products: live larvae, dried larvae, and frass organic fertilizer. Beyond technology, we empower communities by creating green jobs, improving waste literacy, and building long-term circular waste management practices. We are committed to caring for the environment and supporting local livelihoods, showing that sustainability grows when communities create it together. Together, we cultivate a circular future from Bali and beyond.
