About United Youth Empowerment Services

United Youth Empowerment Services (UnitedYES) is a youth-led nonprofit organization based in Lewiston, Maine, dedicated to empowering immigrant and refugee youth ages 3 to 25. Since our founding in 2016, we have worked to build community, foster leadership, and provide safe, creative spaces for youth to thrive. Our programs focus on youth development, recreation, education, trauma support, and cultural arts. We offer weekly open gyms, sports clinics, media literacy and film workshops, after-school tutoring, and special events that promote healing and social connection. Through mentorship, collaboration, and advocacy, we help young people become leaders in their own lives and communities. UnitedYES partners with local organizations, farms, and schools to expand access to culturally relevant resources, mental health support, and healthy food. We are proud to uplift the voices of immigrant youth and support the next generation of changemakers.
