About Universal Strategy

Universal Strategy works as an adviser and interim leader in corporate transformation. We work with companies that are in need of a major change either in meeting an existing challenge or in seeking greater sustainable growth in performance. We add value by solving the problem of strategic planning under uncertainty by deploying an adaptive strategy construction process followed by responsive execution. We work hands on with project teams selected from our client employees to reduce induction time, improve change acceptance and develop transformation skills for the client. Rapid Assessment: The core of every assessment are the interviews held with the first three levels of management. Solutions to problems need more than financial analysis. Performance improvements need more than a strategy. These interviews reveal the information that is critical for our clients to understand the true issues involved and what they mean for their company. Short-Term Triage: Major challenges can be met by correctly recognizing what in the company is healthy, what can / should be saved, and what needs to be removed. Major opportunities can be exploited by recognizing what can provide large value, what can provide a stable base and what needs to be discarded. Responsive Execution Adaptive Planning: Great challenges and great opportunities are usually associated with great uncertainty. Planning under uncertainty cannot be performed by standard corporate planning tools as the information needed is rarely available. An adaptive plan that updates as information is uncovered is the solution. Major challenges can be met by correctly recognizing what in the company is healthy, what can and should be saved, and what needs to be removed. Responsive Execution: This is the integral partner to adaptive planning. Creating value, or avoiding value destruction, in times of uncertainty comes from nimble execution in response to an adaptive plan which self-updates as information is uncovered.
