About University of Alberta Engineers in Action

At Engineers in Action, safety and dignity are at the forefront of our goals. As a student-led club, our mission is to work with under-served communities in Bolivia by creating access to essential resources and economic opportunities by building footbridges over impassable rivers. In these communities, a swollen river can mean the difference between receiving an education, getting medical attention, and selling goods - or not. We work closely with professional engineers and members of the local community to build capacity and resilience, and we believe everyone deserves to live healthy and dignified lives with access to essential services.
