About University of Florida Club Rowing

This is the official LinkedIn page for the University of Florida's Club Rowing team. If you are interesting in joining or coaching, please reach out to our executive board at ufloridacrew@gmail.com. In addition to being part of an excellent team-oriented, competitive environment, as a study-led and student-run sport club, we have many leadership opportunities available. From managing our fundraising campaigns, to developing our social media platforms, to organizing our apparel orders, there is something for every interest and talent. Florida Club Rowing was founded in 1984 as a club sport, but we have never let the classification "club" define our performance or results. We compete against Division I, II, & III teams, as well as other club teams, in one of the most physically and mentally rigorous sports in the world. We practice 6 days a week on Newnans Lake in Gainesville, FL. Our season is all year round, with Head races in the Fall (5,000 meter, timed races) and sprints (2,000 meters) in the Spring. Our team started off as just a small group of passionate athletes. They rowed in mixed men/women line ups until they had enough rowers to separate into women's and men's team. Now we have almost 100 rowers, and four full teams: Novice Women, Novice Men, Varsity Women and Varsity Men. We have pushed ourselves onto the national spotlight and are a force to be reckoned with in the rowing world. Each year we seek to expand our fleet, improve our facilities, strengthen our bodies, and perfect our stroke. With the help of dedicated athletes and encouraging coaches, family, alumni, and fans, we can achieve all of our goals and spread the Gator Nation domination throughout the rowing world.
