About Urban Resilience Lab Barcelona

The Urban Resilience Lab (URLab), based in Barcelona, is a local non-profit organization dedicated to bridging science and practice, as mandated by the Urban Resilience research Network (URNet). Our mission is to foster collaboration among organizations, institutions, stakeholders, and individuals working on urban resilience within the city. Through mapping projects and initiatives, we aim to highlight the efforts shaping resilience in Barcelona - showing where, who, how, and why these actions take place. In partnership with URNet, URLab delves into the theoretical challenges of urban resilience, organizing "pracademic" events, writing workshops, and facilitating meaningful dialogues between theory and practice. We also host courses and seminars in various formats (online, hybrid, and in-person), providing opportunities for learning and exchange. By mapping and disseminating local resilience initiatives, URLab showcases how resilience manifests in Barcelona, contributing to a broader understanding of urban adaptability and capacity-building.
