About Urban Waterway Logistics

Urban Waterway Logistics (UWL) is a non-profit consortium born from a collaboration of leading building-materials traders around the city of Ghent, Belgium. We believe in a logistics system that is technically efficient, environmentally friendly, and designed for modern urban mobility challenges such as congestion, low-emission zones, limited loading zones and evolving urban delivery demands. Our mission: • Enable a modal shift from road to inland waterway for last-mile and urban goods flows. • Develop a city-distribution platform and multi-modal hubs to serve urban clients reliably and sustainably. • Combine expertise from materials-traders, logistics and public/private stakeholders to strengthen and promote sustainable supply-chain.
