About Usborne & Hibbert Mutual Insurance Company

Usborne and Hibbert Mutual Fire Insurance Company was formed in 1876. Fire insurance was very difficult to obtain in rural communities at that time. If it was available, it was often cost prohibitive. The company was formed on the basis of neighbour helping neighbour, a concept similar to other Farm Mutuals established at that time. That concept still exists within our culture today. More than a century later Usborne & Hibbert Mutual Fire Insurance Company has not lost its connection with the rural community. We offer protection to our policyholders through Auto, Agribusiness, Commercial and Residential insurance products. We have grown into a financially strong organization with the means to provide peace of mind to our policyholders far into the future. As part of the Ontario Mutual Insurance Association and the Farm Mutual Reinsurance Plan, we are backed by one of the world’s most financially secure insurance networks, providing strength, stability and expertise.
