About Utah Housing Preservation Fund
The Utah Housing Preservation Fund (UHPF) is a 100% mission-based, evergreen affordable housing fund created to preserve long-term affordability across Utah. Our approach focuses on acquiring at-risk affordable housing—including Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing (NOAH) and properties nearing the end of their land use restrictions—investing in improved living conditions, and maintaining below-market rents in perpetuity. We do not sell properties. We preserve them. Through grants from the State of Utah and the support of values-aligned social impact investors who prioritize mission over maximum returns, UHPF reinvests all excess cash flow into protecting and expanding affordable housing. This structure allows us to scale impact while keeping housing stable for the long term. UHPF is managed by the Utah Non-Profit Housing Corporation, a 501(c)(3), enabling property tax exemption and deep collaboration with local governments, housing authorities, community-oriented banks, and service providers. These partnerships extend beyond housing, improving resident outcomes through enhanced amenities, tenant services, and initiatives such as mobile health clinics.
