About Utcáról Lakásba! Egyesület - From Streets to Homes Association

From Streets to Homes Association strives to help homeless persons and families move into safe, affordable rental housing. In line with Housing First principles, we believe that housing is a prerequisite of social integration and participation. To achieve our goal, we cooperate with other NGOs, public sector organisations, and private sector actors as well. Through our operation since 2013 we helped more than 100 homeless persons move into adequate, affordable homes. More recently we also provided rental housing support to refugee families from Ukraine. We also carry out awareness raising and policy advisory activities, to promote that the good practices we implement be adopted on the broader social policy level. Our final objective is that the methods and care forms we provide be adopted on the national level: we believe that the systemic problems our activities alleviate can only be properly addressed on a systemic level, through public policy.
