About The VAP+ Lipid Panel The VAP+ Lipid Panel is an expanded cholesterol profile that provides direct, detailed measurements of cholesterol, or lipid, subclasses, which play important roles in the development of cardiovascular disease, the No. 1 cause of death in the United States. The test identifies a far greater number of people at risk for heart disease than traditional cholesterol tests developed in the 1970s. Measurements obtained using The VAP+ also provide doctors with a foundation from which to develop individualized treatment plans while continuing to track patients'​ progress in battling heart disease. The price of the VAP+ is comparable to the traditional cholesterol test.
