About VBMA Western University of Health Sciences

The Veterinary Business Management Association (VBMA) at WesternU is the largest voluntary, student-run organization at the College of Veterinary Medicine. Our mission is to prepare future veterinarians to succeed not only as clinicians, but as leaders, practice owners, and professionals who understand the business side of veterinary medicine. VBMA provides students with meaningful career development through weekly business-focused Lunch & Learns, featuring speakers from corporate groups, private practices, specialty hospitals, financial consultants, and industry partners. These sessions help students explore ownership pathways, career options, communication skills, financial literacy, and leadership development. We also host WesternU’s only dedicated Career Fair for veterinary students, connecting members with employers, externship programs, and industry opportunities in a high-impact networking setting. In addition, VBMA offers resume-building workshops, interview preparation, professional skills training, and exposure to real-world business models. Our goal is to give every member the confidence and knowledge needed to build a successful, sustainable veterinary career. As the largest student-led organization at WesternU CVM, VBMA brings together a strong, supportive community of veterinary students who are motivated to grow, lead, and make an impact in the profession.
