Poynette is a small, rural community in Columbia County, located in the rolling glacial hills just south of the Baraboo range, just north of Madison, along I-90 and Hwy 51. We a minutes away from the MacKenzie Center and Lake Wisconsin. Our population after the 2000 census was approximately 2500 people.
