Vivo Resorts came into being in 2010 after years of research and globe-trotting in pursuit of the perfect, tropical beachfront location. Thirty destinations later, we lost our hearts to Puerto Escondido, an under-the-radar but beloved surf town in Oaxaca, Mexico. What locals knew and we were delighted to learn was this part of Oaxaca enjoys an ideal, year-round climate with safe weather patterns. Warm-to-the-touch Pacific Ocean temperatures. A laidback, friendly and artful culture. And of course, it’s the cradle of some of Mexico’s most venerated culinary traditions. The time was right. The Oaxacan Emerald Coast is now recognized as an emerging destination, earning international attention and new infrastructure and amenities to match.
