About Voice of Romni

We currently operate in 5 regions of Ukraine: Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zakarpattia, with nearly 60 employees recruited. Our main focus areas include humanitarian aid for the Roma community, cash assistance, economic recovery for Roma and IDP women, and education for Roma children. In the realm of humanitarian aid, we provide essential items to Roma households in front-line territories, supported by donors like Oxfam, ACTED, Mercy Corps, and the World Food Program. We've also pioneered international cash assistance, partnering with Mercy Corps, initially for Roma families in Zakarpattia, Dnipropetrovsk, Merefa and Zaporizhzhia. In terms of economic recovery, we help Roma and IDP women acquire new skills and provide starter kits for employment. Activities take place in "Place of Power" spaces in Uzhhorod, Zaporizhzhia, and Kryvyi Rih. Donors include the Eastern Europe Foundation and UN Women, benefiting about 300 women who completed courses. For the education of Roma children, we've established spaces offering psychological support, developmental classes, speech therapy, English, and computer courses in Uzhgorod, Zaporizhzhia, and Kryvyi Rih. Over 30,000 people have received assistance in all areas. Beyond direct assistance, we prioritize supporting local Roma organizations by involving them in projects, introducing them to donors, and providing training in project management, fundraising, and crisis communications. Our overarching goal is to empower these organizations to access training, funding, and become independent NGOs, emphasizing the importance of systemic changes through collaboration.
