To realize this vision, Vuela’s mission is to unite and engage Latino communities through education, collaboration, and leadership development, to improve the physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being of participants and their families. Vuela’s goals: ● Engage and strengthen communities by creating strategic partnerships and presenting evidence-based trainings which are culturally appropriate ● Create meaningful community and family connections through consistent involvement of the Promotoras de Salud/Community Health Workers in the community ● Identify opportunities to support individuals to make small changes in daily habits that, over time, add up to long-term health ● Actively solicit community input to identify evolving needs, enhance program effectiveness, advocate for additional resources, deepen partnerships with local service agencies and create new connections to promote economic, environmental and social and emotional well-being.
