About Warmer Homes London

Warmer Homes London brings together London’s councils, the Mayor of London, housing associations, builders, community energy groups, and training organisations to improve the energy efficiency of Londoners' homes. London faces a significant challenge. With 3.7 million homes in need of upgrades, the city has some of the oldest and least energy-efficient housing stock in Europe. Homes lose heat three times faster than those in Germany and are increasingly vulnerable to overheating in summer. Around 10% of Londoners live in fuel poverty, making this not just an environmental issue, but a social one. The fragmented system of delivery means that boroughs, housing associations and contractors are often competing against each other, with high costs and not enough skilled workers.​ Through a collective partnership approach, Warmer Homes London is designed to address these challenges head-on: helping to deliver homes that are greener, healthier and more affordable to heat.
