About Washington Apple Education Foundation

Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) is the charity of Washington’s tree fruit industry. Our mission is to provide access to higher education and meaningful career pathways for students connected to Washington’s tree fruit community. Each year, WAEF supports hundreds of students from agricultural families across Central Washington, many of whom are the first in their families to pursue college. Through scholarships and our “Beyond the Scholarship” programs, we work alongside students throughout their educational journey. This includes mentorship, industry exposure, career exploration, and a network of support designed to help students persist, graduate on time, and transition into careers that strengthen their families, communities, and the agricultural industry. WAEF was created by the tree fruit industry and continues to be powered by growers, packers, allied businesses, and individuals who believe in investing in the next generation. Together, we are helping students build brighter futures while strengthening the communities that sustain Washington agriculture.
