About Wegotcha! Charity

Wegotcha! Is a charity that was born out of compassion and a sense of duty to help those around us who so obviously need it. There is no shortage of nonprofits in the North Texas area, but our founder saw a need to help them fill in the gaps. The local homeless shelters and Ronald McDonald House needs volunteers to cook and serve meals for the residents; organizations serving refugees need a constant supply of donations to furnish empty apartments, as well as people to deliver those donations and set up the apartments; and the local food pantries need assistance sorting food and cleaning the pantry so that it is a pleasant experience for each guest. Many people want to help in some way but often feel stuck and don’t know how – this is where Wegotcha! comes in. By learning of volunteer opportunities and organizing individuals and small groups to take part in these opportunities, Wegotcha! has created a wide, ever-growing web of people doing good by focusing on meeting each potential volunteer where they are. Some people prefer to make donations and hear how they are being used. Others prefer to volunteer hands-on, whether by cooking or serving food at a homeless shelter, grocery shopping for a refugee family, making donations of old clothes and housewares, sorting through the plethora of donations, or delivering those donations to newly arrived refugee families in need. Rather than create another independent charity, Wegotcha! was created to support those that have been long established but need volunteers to help them keep running and serving their clientele to the best of their abilities. Not only does this work support the charities and nonprofits at hand, but it also creates a great sense of community and fulfillment among the hundreds of volunteers involved in various aspects of the work that they do.
