About Westmont Montessori School

What We Believe At the heart of our mission lies a commitment to crafting educational experiences that not only prepare individuals for the future but also empower them. We envision a world where education transcends traditional boundaries to become a communal, interdisciplinary pursuit, with the world serving as our expansive classroom. Our School Westmont came to life 67 years ago, birthed from the collective vision of forward-thinking parents and educators. Inspired by Maria Montessori’s philosophy, our founders sought to create an environment steeped in experiential learning, one that cherishes and nurtures each student’s unique path—respecting their interests, developmental stages, and learning paces. As years progressed, so did Westmont. Our evolution has been fueled by an unwavering commitment to our community—expanding programs, embracing technology, and ensuring our education remains relevant amidst an ever-changing global landscape. Our 8-acre campus, fringed by an expanse of 143 acres of forest, streams, and ocean front, offers natural learning environments that juxtapose the digital realms our technology connects us to. Westmont's Montessori community is robust, comprising approximately 270 students and a dedicated cadre of 55 teachers and staff, housed within three structures on our grounds. Direction comes from a strategic plan and an active Board, support radiates from a dynamic Parent Advisory Council (PAC) and enthusiastic family volunteers. Our recent achievements include erecting a signature main building, broadening our lower and middle school offerings, and launching a high school program that has garnered accolades from the BC Ministry of Education for its excellence. Currently, we're on the cusp of expanding our high school offering furt
