Wide Swath Research (WSR) is a provider of software-defined radar (SDR) hardware, embedded software/firmware, and real-time signal processing for terrestrial, airborne, and spaceborne sensing applications. Our flagship Astra® SDR family offers multi-channel, high-bandwidth data acquisition and waveform generation (from DC through X-band), FPGA-based (and optionally GPU-accelerated) onboard processing, ruggedized hardware for ground, airborne, and space missions, and flexible deployment options — from running our built-for-you Astra® Radar Operating System to custom developments or “vanilla” dev kits. Our Radar Environment Simulator complements this ecosystem by providing real-time, hardware-in-the-loop digital target generation. It enables repeatable, cost-effective testing of radar modes, algorithms, and instrument behavior without costly field experiments. WSR also provides select engineering services — including hardware design, firmware/embedded software, FPGA/HDL development, prototyping, and integration — for customers requiring tailored digital radar solutions. With decades of radar-system experience across NASA/JPL, defense primes, and commercial space startups, WSR is a small, agile team focused on delivering high-performance radar and remote-sensing systems.
