About Words Plus™

Words Plus is a private speech-language pathology practice based in Oakville, Ontario. We support children who are late to talk, autistic, or benefit from Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Our work is grounded in neurodiversity-affirming practice, Developmental Relationship-Based Intervention (DRBI) and a Total Communication approach that values each child’s unique communication style. Therapy is play-based, child-led, and focused on building connection, autonomy, and meaningful participation in everyday life. We partner closely with families and caregivers, recognizing them as essential members of the team. Services are collaborative, holistic, and designed to fit naturally within a child’s routines and environments. We also value strong interprofessional collaboration and regularly work alongside educators, physicians, and other allied health professionals. Words Plus offers a free initial 15-minute consultation, followed by comprehensive assessments and individualized therapy services. Appointments are available in-clinic, in-home within our service area, and virtually across Ontario. Our mission is to empower children and families through compassionate, high-quality speech and language therapy that prioritizes meaningful connection and communication — beyond spoken words.
