About World Mitochondria Society

The World Mitochondria Society is founded by Prof. Marvin Edeas in 2010. Prof. Volkmar Weissig is the president. The WMS gathers more than 3200 members coming from all fields related to mitochondria and health. The WMS Annual Meeting discusses the following topics: -The role of mitochondrial dysfunction in chronic diseases -Assessment and quantification of mitochondrial dysfunction in vitro and in vivo -Ways to target and manipulate mitochondrial function in order to develop future mitochondria-based therapies
