We are a Community Interest Company, firmly established as a credible and active LERO working in the provision of community support services, social inclusion and outreach work for the recovery community in York. We liaise closely with the drug and alcohol service provider, the council and all other statutory services; whilst maintaining our independence. York In Recovery (YIR) is a peer-support and exclusively peer-led recovery group. With an abstinence-based philosophy, YIR offers a safe space, activities, and companionship for “friends”; members of the York community who are either in recovery or who may not yet be in recovery but have an interest in knowing what recovery could be for themselves
