I didn’t want to work 9-5, so I started a business. Now I work 24/7! Thirty years ago, that was me. Long before I was the calm and collected accountant you see today, I was a tired young mum co-running a 3in1 restaurant, bnb and petting zoo. Between kids, animals and customers, there were days when I felt like I didn’t get a single thought to myself. Luckily, over time, things got better. 𝗔 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸-𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗜 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁. Today, when new business owners ask me for advice, the #1 thing I say is: “Find people who treat your business’s tasks with as much care and attention as you’d give them yourself. Those people are worth their weight in gold.” In 2003 I left hospitality and started on the road to becoming an accountant. I gravitated towards accounts because I liked the idea of being a go-to, worth-my-weight-in-gold person for other business owners. When I started yourBIZ in 2012 — my vision was an accounting and bookkeeping service that doubled as a peace-of-mind service.
