About YWCA Great Lakes Bay Region
In December 1891, the YWCA of Bay City was incorporated and has served the community for over 130 years. The organization started as a safe residential facility for women and eventually serving as a social club. Over time, the organization developed a strong reputation for women's' issues and advocacy. Our Mission: The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. We became the YWCA Great Lakes Bay Region by regionalizing and expanding our services to include Bay, Midland and Saginaw Counties. We are a leadership organization for women and advocate for the advancement of women in the Great Lakes Bay Region. YWCA Great Lakes Bay Region has six core programs that focus on the empowerment and advancement of women in the Great Lakes Bay Region. We provide the Women's Economic Empowerment Program and InterACT, a cultural competency program. If you're interested in getting involved with the YWCA, you can visit our website at www.ywcaglbr.org or contact us at 989-894-9055.
