Goga Publishing, established in 1998, focused primarily on literary fiction. Upholding the highest editorial standards, Goga has maintained the reputation of a trustworthy publisher with authors and readers alike. Goga’s program consists mostly of contemporary novels (both Slovene and in translation), but also includes poetry, short prose, and essays. Among Goga’s authors are many of Slovenia’s most esteemed, awarded, and translated writers. In addition, Goga owns a coffee/bookshop with an outdoor terrace on the Central Square since, runs a literary residence, organizes literary events, cultural festivals, and presents the Maruša Krese award for the best collection of short stories, the only of its kind in Slovenia.
