About Zanzibar Airports Authority

Founded in 2011, Zanzibar Airports Authority, also knows as ZAA, is the national statutory body with overall responsibility for airports operations in all airports in Zanzibar. It took over the responsibilities of the former Department of Aviation under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Communication—now renamed the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communication, and Transportation—and adopted a commercial management model to achieve financial self-sufficiency while delivering efficient and high-quality services.
