About Zululand Energy Terminal

The Zululand Energy Terminal (ZET) is a strategic partnership between Vopak Terminal Durban and Transnet Pipelines, established to develop and operate a world-class Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import terminal at the Port of Richards Bay. Under a 25-year concession, ZET will design, finance, construct and manage critical gas infrastructure that unlocks reliable LNG supply for industry and power generation. Positioned as a catalyst for regional growth, the project will strengthen energy security, attract investment and create new economic opportunities across KwaZulu-Natal. By enabling cleaner, flexible energy solutions, ZET supports South Africa’s evolving energy landscape and the transition toward a more resilient, diversified future.
