Position Overview
The Radiology Associate at United Health Services (UHS) plays an important role in supporting the patient journey within radiology services. By helping maintain patient flow, preparing care areas, and supporting daily department operations, this role contributes to safe, efficient, and organized imaging services. Working closely with radiology staff and other care team members, the Radiology Associate helps create a positive patient experience while ensuring established standards for safety, quality, and confidentiality are consistently met.
Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Imaging Support Services, UHS Wilson Medical Center Work Shift and Schedule: This is a per diem position, which means you will work on an as needed, agreed upon basis. Working hours will be assigned by your manager.
Compensation
$16.00 - $20.16 per hour, depending on experience This position is not eligible for benefits. ----- Job Responsibilities Essential Functions: Transport patients safely between waiting areas, hospital rooms, and radiology procedure areas to support timely care delivery Assist with patient transfers between stretchers, wheelchairs, and imaging tables to ensure proper positioning and safety Support radiologic workflows by preparing procedure areas, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring readiness for patient care Manage supply and linen inventory by stocking, organizing, and maintaining necessary materials for daily operations Perform administrative support tasks to facilitate efficient department operations and communication Complete assigned projects and routine tasks to support operational priorities and departmental goals Collaborate with imaging staff and care teams to ensure a seamless, patient-centered experience aligned with UHS standards of care Scope and Impact: Contribute to patient flow efficiency by ensuring timely and organized transport and preparation activities within radiology services Apply established procedures and safety protocols to support consistent, high-quality patient care outcomes Exercise judgment within defined guidelines to prioritize tasks and escalate concerns related to patient safety or workflow disruptions Maintain accountability for assigned responsibilities while working under general supervision in a clinical environment Compliance and Professional: Maintain required training, competencies, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards for patient safety and confidentiality Adhere to HIPAA requirements and safeguard patient information across all interactions and documentation processes Complete all assigned education and competency validations within established timelines to ensure readiness in a clinical setting Safeguard sensitive data by following established security policies and procedures, using systems responsibly, and promptly reporting potential security incidents, risks, or policy violations As applicable to your role, support cybersecurity and data protection requirements throughout the supplier lifecycle by coordinating vendor risk assessments, monitoring third-party compliance, and promptly reporting identified supply chain or cybersecurity risks Additional Expectations: Demonstrate UHS Values of Compassion, Trust, Respect, Teamwork, and Innovation in all daily work and interactions Execute responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable regulations Perform additional responsibilities as required to meet department and organizational needs Position Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or equivalent Up to 1 year of related experience in a role or field that provides transferable skills or knowledge relevant to the position Up to 1 year of customer/patient-facing experience directly interacting and communicating with the public Preferred: Current enrollment in a Radiology academic program Up to 1 year of direct experience performing the exact or very similar duties required by the job within the same role or function Up to 1 year of healthcare experience working in the healthcare industry in any job function ----- About United Health Services United Health Services (UHS) is a locally owned, not-for-profit healthcare system in New York’s Southern Tier comprising four hospitals, long-term care and home care services, and physician practices in Broome and surrounding counties.
