Job description

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning, Scheduling & Execution Work directly with the Project Manager to support projects from pre-construction planning through commissioning, turnover, and customer sign-off. Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, milestones, look-ahead plans, and critical deadlines; communicate changes and potential impacts promptly.

Track daily and weekly project progress against schedule and scope; proactively identify constraints involving manpower, materials, equipment, access, engineering, or coordination with other trades. Coordinate with field supervision to understand upcoming work, manpower requirements, sequencing, site conditions, and project priorities.

Help maintain continuity when the Project Manager is off-site or unavailable by ensuring decisions, commitments, open items, and customer expectations are clearly documented and communicated. Support project cost awareness by tracking labor hours, material usage, commitments, and potential scope changes; promptly flag conditions that may affect project cost or schedule.

Material, Equipment & Inventory Coordination Forecast project material, equipment, rental, and tooling requirements in coordination with the Project Manager and field supervision. Manage and track material requisitions, purchase requirements, deliveries, inventory, shortages, backorders, and jobsite material status to prevent avoidable delays.

Coordinate with vendors and internal support teams to confirm lead times and delivery dates and ensure critical materials are available when required by the schedule. Maintain accurate records of project material and equipment status and communicate risks before they impact field productivity. Customer, Contractor & Trade Coordination Attend customer progress meetings, safety meetings, coordination meetings, and contractor/trade meetings; professionally represent Teknikor and communicate project status accurately.

Work closely with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, OEM representatives, and other trades to coordinate work and resolve conflicts that could affect project execution. Document meeting notes, commitments, action items, responsible parties, and due dates; follow open items through completion. Maintain professional, responsive communication with customers throughout the project lifecycle and escalate issues to the Project Manager when appropriate.

Safety & Compliance Maintain a strong and visible focus on safety throughout project planning and execution. Support compliance with OSHA requirements, Teknikor safety policies, customer site-specific requirements, permit programs, lockout/tagout procedures, and job hazard analysis requirements. Participate in and, when appropriate, assist with customer and project safety meetings, pre-task planning, incident follow-up, and corrective actions.

Identify safety concerns or project conditions that could create risk and ensure they are communicated and addressed promptly. Project Documentation & Closeout Maintain accurate project records including schedules, meeting minutes, daily reports, material logs, RFIs, submittals, change documentation, correspondence, and closeout information.

Assist with identifying, documenting, and tracking scope changes, field conditions, and potential change-order work for Project Manager review. Support preparation of project turnover and closeout packages, including required customer documentation and outstanding punch-list items. Ensure project information is organized, current, and accessible to the Project Manager and field team.
