Role Overview We are looking for a Service Engineer (m/f/d) Automation to join our team in Sæby/Frederikshavn. In this role, you will contribute to the programming, commissioning, and support of Integrated Alarm & Control Systems (IAS/IAMCS) and SCADA solutions for vessels, primarily cruise ships and large commercial vessels.

Working closely with experienced colleagues, you will collaborate with shipowners, shipyards, and our internal engineering teams on newbuilds, refits, upgrades, and warranty activities. The role offers a balance of hands-on technical work and customer contact, and includes international travel and onboard assignments.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out commissioning, service, refits, and upgrades of marine automation and SCADA systems Take part in FAT, HAT, and Sea Trials, including onboard commissioning activities Identify and resolve software and hardware issues during service assignments Develop and adapt PLC/SCADA software, both in-house and onboard vessels Support warranty cases for newbuild and retrofit projects, remotely and onsite Prepare and keep technical documentation up to date, such as functional descriptions, drawings, and interface documentation Assist with class compliance activities and system handover to shipowners, shipyards, and classification societies Maintain clear and professional communication with customers and colleagues throughout project execution Key Requirements A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field Practical, professional experience with industrial automation, SCADA systems, and PLC programming (IEC 61131-3: ST, LD, FBD, etc.)

, ideally gained through commissioning or service projects A structured approach to troubleshooting across automation software, electronics, and industrial networks Familiarity with common marine and industrial communication protocols (e.g. Modbus, NMEA, OPC, Profibus) Openness to working onboard vessels and traveling internationally for service and commissioning activities Fluency in Danish and English, both written and spoken The ability to obtain NATO and national security clearance in accordance with authority regulations A valid driver's license Additional Knowledge (Advantageous) Exposure to Power Management Systems (PMS), propulsion control, or alarm & monitoring systems Some familiarity with classification society requirements and approval documentation An interest in, or basic knowledge of, object-oriented programming (e.
