Collects insurance, co-pay, and deductibles at Point of Service. Quickly and efficiently expedites the registration process. Provides a positive first impression of the hospital to the public. How you’ll contribute Ensure that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.

Distribute and explain forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members. Meet with patient or patient's caregiver before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation. Provide explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions. Communicate with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission to exchange necessary information and determine placement.

Verify insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as necessary. Determine and accept required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow up.

Required Skills

Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment Ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and accuracy Education High School Diploma or GED Preferred; Associate degree preferred.
