E.L.L. Classroom Aide

MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 60 college credit hours or associate degree required DESE Substitute certification required Experience working as a classroom aide preferred ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist students with disabilities according to their individualized needs Assist in managing the behavior of students Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students Maintain confidentiality of information about children and their families in accordance with board policy and law Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as requested by administration Help supervise arrival and departure of students to which he or she is assigned Follow instructions from teachers and administrators Work with students individually or in small groups Accompany class to special subjects such as music, physical education, art, and library Provide assistance and guidance of routines to a substitute in a teacher's absence Work the number of days and hours specified when employed by the board; hours worked exclude lunch Perform other duties as may be assigned For a complete listing of job responsibilities and fitness for duty requirements, see our Classroom Aide Job Description at www.
