Head of R&D EM China

1. Technology & Product Strategy Shape the China technology, module and roadmap, ensuring alignment with global BU strategy and future product portfolio. Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, competitive differentiators, and long-term innovation opportunities. Partner with global R&D and product management to co‑shape platform strategy, architecture decisions, and product vision.
2. Organization Building & Leadership Build and scale a high‑performing R&D organization in China covering mechanics, electronics, software, algorithms, and system engineering. Establish talent strategy, succession planning, competency development, and organizational structure for sustainable growth. Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and technical excellence
3. Program & Execution Management Oversee strategic programs, ensuring technical quality, schedule integrity, and delivery excellence across multiple R&D streams. Establish program governance, risk management processes, and cross-team execution mechanisms. Drive cross-site collaboration between China and global R&D teams, ensuring seamless integration and transparency.
4. System Architecture & Technical Oversight Provide expert guidance on system architecture, performance requirements, design reviews, and technology trade-offs. Supervise prototyping strategy and platform demonstrator development to validate concepts and technological feasibility.
5. Stakeholder & Ecosystem Collaboration Represent China R&D in global decision-making forums and technical steering boards. Collaborate with Suzhou operations for lab setup, infrastructure, and prototype supply chain. Engage with external partners, suppliers, and research institutes to build an innovation ecosystem.

Education

/ 教育背景 Master’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, mechanical engineering or related field. Experience /经验 Proven experience in interdisciplinary R&D leadership role, preferably in the field of electron microscopy. Proven experience in a global R&D setup Strong understanding of systems engineering, platform strategy, and technology roadmap planning.

Expertise in prototyping and prototype sourcing processes (mechanics, electronics) Other Skills/ /其他技能 Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across global and local teams Fluent in English and Mandarin Demonstrate strong technical leadership to guide the team in achieving project goals. Maintain a result-driven mindset to ensure successful outcomes and continuous improvement.
