Unarmed Security Officer

Overview

Enterprise Security Services Corporation is seeking Unarmed Security Officers to support client sites in the Roanoke area. A women- and minority-owned company with over 30 years in the security industry, we welcome both experienced officers and dependable candidates who are prepared to learn and develop within the organization.

Where you'll work Officers will be assigned to client locations in and around Roanoke, including retail, commercial, and community sites. Assignments are based on coverage needs and may rotate between shifts, requiring officers who can work reliably across the local area.

Responsibilities

Maintain a visible, professional presence that deters theft and unsafe conditions Patrol the property and verify that entrances and exits are secure Monitor for suspicious activity and safety hazards, and report them promptly Assist visitors, customers, and staff in a courteous and professional manner Respond to incidents and emergencies calmly and in accordance with established procedures Prepare clear, accurate incident and daily activity reports Communicate with site management and emergency services as required Requirements Hold or be able to obtain a Virginia DCJS unarmed security officer registration Meet Virginia's minimum age and eligibility requirements for security registration Pass a criminal background check Possess reliable transportation to reach assigned sites in the Roanoke area Demonstrate willingness to learn site procedures and adhere to them consistently Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Prior experience is not required — training and guidance will be provided Benefits Weekly pay on a regular pay cycle Flexible shift scheduling to accommodate personal commitments Additional shift opportunities across multiple client locations Opportunities for advancement as assignments continue to expand Uniform & equipment Class A black uniform required (must be able to obtain); equipment may be issued.
