THE OPPORTUNITY: This is a broad Benefits role that requires depth where it matters most- benefits administration. The role serves as a hands-on, trusted resource to leaders, HR Business Partners, and team members across the organization. In your day-to-day work, you will translate regulatory requirements and business goals into effective solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Benefits
& Retirement (45%) Lead the administration and continuous improvement of NMG's health, welfare, and retirement programs across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, ensuring operational excellence and compliance. Serve as the organization's subject matter expert for benefits and retirement programs, partnering with brokers, carriers, retirement record keepers, and third-party administrators to optimize plan performance and resolve complex issues.
Manage benefit enrollments, and team member education that enable informed decisions and maximizes the value of NMG's Benefits offerings. Own plan compliance, including ERISA requirements, annual testing, audits, and regulatory filings. Leave, Workers' Comp & Benefit Operations (30%) Serve as the liaison for the administration of leave of absence, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and unemployment programs, ensuring compliance while driving improvements where necessary.
Partner with leaders, HR Business Partners, external vendors, and agencies to resolve complex cases, provide guidance, and lead timely outcomes. Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen internal controls, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the overall team member experience across Benefits programs.
Manage NMG’s paid time off policies and practices. Compliance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement (20%) Ensure all programs remain compliant with applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations. Prepare reporting, analyze trends, identify opportunities, and recommend solutions that improve compliance, and operational effectiveness.
Develop and maintain scalable processes, documentation, and best practices that support the continued growth and maturity of the Benefits function.
Compensation
(5%) Support compensation programs through job evaluations, market benchmarking, compensation analysis, and data-driven recommendations that enable informed pay decisions. Ensure compensation practices align with organizational objectives and applicable laws and regulations. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
10+ years of progressive experience in Benefits, Total Rewards, or Human Resources, including demonstrated ownership of benefits and retirement administration and regulatory compliance. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel: Efficiently build and troubleshoot commonly used formulas (e.g., vlookup, IF statements, True/False, TRIM, SUM) as well as Pivot Tables, charts, drop down lists, etc.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to organize and interpret data, develop recommendations, and prepare leader-ready reports and communications. Proficiency with HRIS and benefits administration platforms. Experience supporting a multi-state and/or multinational workforce. Strong working knowledge of the regulatory framework governing employee benefits and Total Rewards, including HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA, and applicable Department of Labor and IRS regulations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR, or CEBS certification. Experience using ADP as the HRIS system of record. Experience working with Total Rewards functions for Canada. SKILLS & ABILITIES: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences. Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Proven ability to build relationships, influence without authority, and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to build, simplify, and scale processes, programs, and documentation.
