Web Content Specialist

WEB CONTENT SPECIALIST (Payclass 10; Permanent Post) ONLINE COMMUNICATIONS COMMUNICATION AND MARKETING DEPARTMENT (CMD) The Communication and Marketing Department (CMD) seeks to appoint a Web Content Specialist with a detailed and well-rounded understanding of digital/web content curation, management, writing and editing, website architecture, and working in a web content managing system (WCMS), such as Drupal or WordPress.

The role is in the Online Communications unit in CMD. This is an in-office position based at UCT’s campus precinct in Mowbray, Cape Town.

REQUIREMENTS

NQF 6 qualification in a related field 6 years’ experience in writing, editing and managing digital/web content working in a web content management system THE FOLLOWING WOULD BE ADVANTAGEOUS: Knowledge of HTML and basic CSS RESPONSIBILITIES: The key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: Contributing to web content strategy.

Curating, managing, writing, updating and editing digital/web content. Managing digital/web content schedules. Liaising with digital/web content owners and managers about their content. Auditing websites for accuracy, currency and compliance with digital presence governance. Collating relevant web analytics. The annual cost of employment, including benefits for 2026, is between R661 967 and R778 783.
