YMCA Swim Team Assistant Coach

Your Coaching Mission

As a YMCA Swim Team Assistant Coach at the City Center YMCA (265 Harrisburg Avenue, Lancaster, PA), you’ll help young athletes sharpen skills, build confidence, and chase new personal bests-while keeping Safety front and center. This part-time, onsite role runs weeknights (Mon-Fri evenings) at $10-$13/hour.

Key responsibilities

• Support a competitive swim program aligned with USA Swimming and YMCA standards
• Teach swim stroke technique, supervise the pool/deck, and maintain a positive learning environment
• Assist with meet preparation plus home-meet setup and cleanup
• Contribute to program development, record keeping, and clear communication with parents and swimmers

Required qualifications/skills:

• Youth swim coaching experience; strong interpersonal communication
• Current CPR/AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding or Coaches Safety certification
• Ability to obtain USA and YMCA coach certifications within 1 month
