Child Development Program Assistant

Job Summary

Under the direction of assigned supervisor, assist in the supervision, care, and instruction of children between the ages of eight weeks to ten years of age.

/ Qualifications FILING DEADLINE: OCTOBER 20, 2026, 4:30 PM District Classified application, supplemental form and copy of transcripts (official or unofficial) must be submitted to the Personnel Commission Office by the filing deadline. SELECTION PROCEDURE: This is an OPEN recruitment to establish an eligibility list and hire substitutes.

Substitutes work on an as-needed basis to fill in for absent employees. The eligibility list will be used to fill permanent vacancies which may occur during the life of the eligibility list. Positions in this classification are part-time (17.5-30 hours per week), 10 months per year, 195 or 203 days. The recruitment process will consist of a written examination and an oral technical interview, which are tentatively scheduled during the weeks of October 26-November 6, 2026.

Must possess, or be in the process of securing, a valid First Aid Certificate within three (3) months of employment in this classification; and must possess, or be in the process of securing, a valid pediatric and/or adult CPR Certificate within six (6) months of employment in this classification.
