CONSTRUCTION MANAGER CONSTRUCTION SERVICE LINE POSITION SUMMARY Spicer Group is seeking an experienced construction leader to serve as our Ohio Construction Manager. This hands-on role leads the delivery of municipal, utility, and transportation infrastructure construction projects and provides day-to-day leadership for our Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team across the state.
The Construction Manager is responsible for managing project execution from pre-construction planning through closeout; coordinating staffing, scheduling, and field oversight; and ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract documents, ODOT/municipal standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
This position serves as a primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders, supports QA/QC and documentation, and contributes to business development by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and strengthening relationships throughout Ohio. , purchase requisitions, etc., under direct supervision Coordinates and conducts construction, technical, and safety training for construction services technicians and other field personnel as required Assists with implementation/interpretation of safety programs and policies Ensures all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, etc.
, are adhered to Monitors projects for construction document compliance and QA/QC Receives, reviews, and distributes test reports Maintains official project log and documentation files Supports with close-out procedures and performs post-construction services and investigations as needed Prepares proposals, meets with potential clients, attends interviews, and other business development activities Physical presence is an essential function of this job.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent Demonstrated complete competence as a construction services technician or equivalent experience Thorough knowledge of construction (technology, equipment, methods), company policies, procedures, and standards Ability to possess and maintain current industry certifications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline Professional licensure (PE) and relevant certification(s) are preferred Significant experience in construction engineering and inspection Established relationships within Ohio Experience managing complex municipal, utility, and transportation infrastructure construction projects from planning through delivery Demonstrate competency in client management and engagement, project management, communication, financial management, and collaboration Proven ability to lead and mentor field inspectors and construction engineering staff Strong communication skills and the confidence to represent Spicer Group with clients, partners, and community stakeholders FOR MORE INFORMATION For more information regarding our firm and/or this position, please visit the Spicer Group website at www.
