HSE Engineer - Road and Bridges

Job Summary

Al Marwan Group is seeking an experienced HSE Engineer / HSE Officer to oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance for road and bridge construction projects across the U.A.E. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in major road, highway, bridge, or infrastructure projects and a strong understanding of construction safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations, client requirements, and company HSE policies. Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments. Monitor road, bridge, excavation, lifting, scaffolding, and other construction activities. Implement HSE procedures, permit-to-work systems, and emergency response plans.

Conduct incident investigations and prepare HSE reports. Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and HSE awareness training. Monitor subcontractor compliance with project HSE requirements. Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, safety statistics, and documentation. Identify site hazards and implement appropriate corrective and preventive measures.

Promote a strong safety culture across the project.

Required Skills

& Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline. Minimum 3+ years of UAE experience in road, bridge, or infrastructure construction projects. NEBOSH IGC Certification is mandatory. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent certification is preferred. Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and construction safety standards.

Experience in excavation, lifting operations, work at height, confined spaces, traffic management, and other road/bridge construction activities. Good communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills. English is mandatory; Arabic is an advantage.
