Part-Time Lunch Monitor

Job Title: Part-Time Lunch Monitor Wage/Hour Status: Non Exempt Reports to: Assistant Principal Starting Hourly Rate: $14.17/hr Dept./School: Elementary School Primary Purpose : Part-time lunch monitor during the daily 2-3 hour lunch time block.

Qualifications

Education/Certification: High school diploma Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to work well with children Ability to communicate effectively Experience: Some experience working with children Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional Support:

1. Monitoring students in the cafeteria during their lunch time
2. Helping maintain an inviting and safe eating environment
3. Assisting student opening lunch containers as needed
4. Helping students find appropriate seating
5. Communicating with other school staff and campus administration when needed
6. Assisting with monitoring of all children during lunch recess on the playground Student Management:
7. Help manage behavior of students. This includes intervening in crisis situations and restraining disruptive or dangerous student behavior as needed.
8. Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students. Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
