EMERGENCY TECHNICIAN JOB SUMMARY:# Under close/general supervision by licensed personnel the Emergency Department (ED) Technician/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will perform a variety of functions in support and care of patients requiring urgent or emergency care in the Rapid Care or emergency medical setting. # REQUIREMENTS: ####High School diploma or equivalent.

####Proof of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification from an approved institution program or CA Paramedic License.# CA EMT License required. #### Phlebotomy Certified Preferred but not required. Paramedic licensed allows phlebotomy in their scope of practice. ####Current BLS Card certification from the American Heart Association.

####Training and experience: Unless otherwise indicated, one year of current experience within the last three years in a comparable job classification required. ####Maintenance of current Basic Life Support for Health. Care Workers. ### Educated on and compliant with HIPAA regulations; maintains strict confidentiality of client information.

Complies with Infection Control, Standard Precautions and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional. ####Able to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., face mask, goggles, latex/non-latex gloves) as needed. ####Ability to work effectively within role independently and with other team members. ### Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner.

Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English. ####Ability to understand medical/surgical terminology. ####Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite. Accurate and timely keyboarding skills, including word processing and data entry. #####Proven ability to organize time and tasks. #####Proven ability to work within multiple departments, receiving direction from multiple sources.
