- Half Time Position Type District Classified Administration / Professional Staff Location District Office School Year 2026-2027 Contract Half Time - 249 Days Reports To Superintendent Salary Salary range commensurate with education and experience; placement according to the Board-approved salary schedule Benefits Health insurance available through the School District; retirement benefits through Colorado PERA Closing Date Until Filled $42,194/year + Depending on Experience Health Insurance is available through the School District Retirement benefits through PERA POSITION SUMMARY The Federal Programs position coordinates assigned federal education programs and ensures effective implementation, compliance, fiscal stewardship, monitoring, and reporting. The position collaborates with District leaders, staff, families, and required partners; provides technical assistance on federal program requirements; and serves as a District liaison to the Colorado Department of Education and other agencies. The position works closely with the Superintendent.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum of three years of successful experience in public education, federal programs administration, compliance, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, solve problems, meet deadlines, and manage complex projects. Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Fingerprint and background clearance. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree in education, public administration, or a related field. Experience administering federal education programs and knowledge of applicable federal and state requirements. Experience managing federally funded education programs, including planning, budgeting, compliance, monitoring, and reporting. Knowledge of Colorado Department of Education federal program systems, monitoring, and reporting requirements.
Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Organize and submit required applications, plans, amendments, assurances, and reports for assigned federal programs. Coordinate assigned federal programs, which may include Title I-A, Title I-C (Migrant), Title III, Title IV, Mc. Kinney-Vento, and other programs as assigned.
Coordinate needs assessments, program planning, stakeholder consultation, and required documentation for assigned federal funds. Collaborate with District staff and required stakeholders to develop program goals, implementation plans, evaluation measures, and budgets. Prepare and submit program applications, amendments, budget revisions, reimbursement documentation, and performance reports by established deadlines.
Monitor budgets and expenditures, review grant-funded purchases, coordinate reimbursements, and maintain required equipment and inventory records. Monitor federally funded programs and services for compliance with program requirements, law, Board policy, approved budgets, and objectives. Maintain accurate federal program documentation for reporting, audits, monitoring, program reviews, and records retention.
Coordinate program reporting and evaluation, analyze outcomes, and recommend improvements as appropriate. Collaborate with District leaders to support coordinated academic programs for students performing below state and federal standards. Provide technical assistance to principals, teachers, and staff regarding implementation, allowable expenditures, documentation, and compliance.
Coordinate professional development related to assigned federal programs and federally funded initiatives. Consult with families, staff, non-public schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders as required. Serve as District liaison to the Colorado Department of Education and appropriate federal agencies for assigned programs.
Coordinate District responsibilities under the Mc. Kinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act and assigned student-support programs. Coordinate required services and consultation for eligible non-public schools and institutions serving neglected or delinquent children. Maintain an annual federal programs calendar and update District leadership on applications, allocations, deadlines, compliance, monitoring, and outcomes.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Work independently and collaboratively in a professional, responsive, service-oriented manner. Interact effectively and professionally with students, families, staff, administrators, Board members, partners, and the public. Comply with District, state, and federal policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintain confidentiality regarding student, family, personnel, and District information. Keep current with relevant laws, guidance, federal program requirements, technology, and professional standards. Attend required meetings, conferences, training, and professional development. Travel throughout the District and attend occasional evening or weekend meetings.
Perform other duties assigned by the Superintendent consistent with the position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of federal education programs, compliance, budgeting, reporting, evaluation, stakeholder consultation, and records management. Ability to organize, analyze, and communicate complex information to varied audiences.
Ability to write and edit clear, accurate, audience-appropriate materials under deadlines. Ability to exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive or confidential matters. Ability to manage multiple programs, deadlines, budgets, monitoring, and reporting requirements accurately. Ability to establish effective working relationships and facilitate collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Work is primarily performed in office and school environments with frequent computer use and interaction with District employees and the public. The position requires travel among District sites and occasional evening or weekend meetings.
The employee must be able to sit or stand for extended periods, use standard office equipment, and occasionally lift materials up to 25 pounds. EVALUATION Performance will be evaluated by the Superintendent or designee in accordance with Board policy and established District procedures.
