Dishwasher/Food Prep

Position Summary

Performs diversified dishwashing activities to assure residents and guests receive a pleasant and sanitary meal experience. Duties/Responsibilities: Handles assigned kitchen dishwashing duties, to include stacking, rinsing and loading dirty dishes into dishwasher; scrubs pots and pans until clean and stores as assigned.

Stocks serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas with necessary dishes and utensils. Handles other kitchen cleaning activities, to include sanitizing counters, kitchen appliances, stoves and refrigerators, mopping and sweeping the floors, etc. in order to meet DHEC standards. Removes trash from the kitchen receptacles and properly disposes trash in the commercial garbage compactor on site.

Assists in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed, to include but not limited to making teas and assisting with short orders. Helps in the stocking of grocery deliveries and taking inventory of kitchen stocks as assigned. Must wear proper attire while on duty (i.e. hair nets, uniforms, gloves).

Provides dining room assistance, such as tablecloth changes and table set-ups as assigned. Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to understand and follow directions. Ability and willingness to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.

Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with other team members.

Qualifications

High school degree or GED preferred. Restaurant experience preferred. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for one-two hour periods to prepare and serve food. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently. Must frequently immerse hands in water.
