• B2B Contract About the role A US-headquartered software product development company (300+ people across the US, LATAM and Europe) is hiring a Lead Rust Engineer for a long-term engagement with a leading US healthcare SaaS client. You’ll own the technical direction of the service and API layer of a next-generation data platform, building new services in Rust (with some C#) while parts of the current platform still run on Ruby. What you’ll do Set technical direction and own architecture and API design for the new service layer. Build and maintain backend services and APIs, primarily in Rust. Migrate existing C# and Ruby clients to the new API surface with minimal disruption. Lead code quality through reviews and work closely with client engineering leads. Must have 8+ years of backend experience building production services and APIs, ideally with tech lead experience. Commercial Rust experience with async services (Tokio, Axum or Actix). Working knowledge of Ruby. Strong API design skills (REST/gRPC, versioning, backward compatibility). Solid SQL, relational databases, testing, CI/CD and observability. Experience driving AI-assisted/agentic coding practices across a team. Fluent English.

Nice to have

C#/.NET, API migrations or strangler-pattern rewrites, data sync or ETL, and regulated industries. Strong Lead/Principal Engineers or Architects without direct Rust experience are also encouraged to apply.
