MicroStation Drafter
Job description
The Micro. Station Drafter is committed to supporting client by providing drafting and design support during the planning, design, and construction of the project. LOCATION This position is based in Lake Charles, LA. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Supports on the Drafting portion of the Project Supports on the Quantity Takeoff activities of the Project.
Supports construction during the execution stage Support in the execution stage (project assistance team to resolve nonconformities, RFI with designers and unexpected events during construction). Collaborates within the technical department, as well as with other departments. Guarantees the correct transmission of design information to the entire project team Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, & SKILLS FOR SUCCESS LOCATION Effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers/public, fellow employees, vendors, etc.
Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change. Ability to work as a team member and exert initiative to work independently to reach a goal. Ability to embrace change in the workplace while encouraging others to seek innovative approaches.
Ability to function effectively as a team player and collaborator. Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime and work additional and/or different hours, including but not limited to nights, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed, to best serve the business operations. QUALIFICATIONS
At a minimum, the Micro. Station Drafter must have an associate's degree in drafting or equivalent field of study along with 3+ years of drafting experience in addition to proven proficiency of Micro. Station or a high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 5+ years of drafting experience in addition to proven proficiency of Micro.
Station. Experience using Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center along with experience working in the construction industry is preferred.
